O Favored One isn't your average Christmas production. It's a brand-new musical written by
local pastor Andrew Burchett—right here in Chico CA.
The story began on a vacation near Lake Tahoe, when Andrew wrote a simple song about
Joseph's "yes" to God. That spark became more than 30 original songs and a full script that
brings the Nativity story to life in ways you've never seen before.
At its heart, the musical follows Joseph—an ordinary man caught in extraordinary
circumstances—showing his doubts, dreams, and trust in God. Along the way, you'll laugh at
awkward encounters, delight in unexpected humor, and be moved by music that captures both
the beauty and the struggle of their journey.
This isn't just a show—it's an invitation for the audience to step into the story of Jesus' birth in a
fresh, deeply human way.
